The Independent Music Companies Association (IMPALA) has officially unveiled its prestigious "100 Artists to Watch" list for 2026, and Irish singer-songwriter Jamie McIntyre has secured a coveted spot.
McIntyre is one of only four Irish artists to be featured on this year’s list, which highlights the most promising independent talent across the European music landscape. The selection, co-funded by the European Union in collaboration with YouTube, serves as a significant nod to McIntyre’s rapidly ascending career.
His inclusion in the IMPALA 100 follows an already incredible start to the year characterized by explosive streaming numbers and a string of sold-out performances. The "Artist to Watch" title is well-supported by McIntyre’s recent track record as Jamie has recently wrapped up his third consecutive sold-out Irish tour and is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon. Beyond Ireland, he has successfully moved tickets in the UK, selling out headline shows in London and Glasgow.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see this "Artist to Watch" in action. Following the recent release of his new track, "Somewhere in Dublin," Jamie is gearing up for a massive summer festival season with key dates including performances at the Galway Folk Festival and a high-profile slot at the State Fayre festival in the UK in June, where he will share the bill with folk heavyweights like Kings of Leon, Kingfishr, and Amble. He is also set to reunite with Gavin James for Haven Fest on June 27th.
With this backing from IMPALA and a dedicated, rapidly growing fanbase, 2026 is shaping up to be the year Jamie McIntyre transitions from a hidden gem to a cornerstone of the Irish folk scene.
