If you tried to get tickets to Jamie McIntyre’s show in Sligo this past Saturday and couldn’t, you weren't alone. The venue was absolutely jammed to the rafters, sold out well in advance with a crowd that seemed to have travelled from every corner of the island. There was a massive contingent of fans down from the North. Clearly they just couldn't wait for him to cross the border for his sold-out shows there.

From the second he walked on, Jamie didn’t miss a beat. He got right into things with his opening track 'Y.O.U'. The crowd went from cheering him to screaming out the lyrics. Its amazing to see the crowd know the words to every song. We got all the heavy hitters, "Melbourne" had the whole room jumping, and "Grá" had everyone wrapped around each other.

A big highlight for the crowd and Jamie too, was the live performance of his brand-new track, "17 Again." We only just reviewed it on the site, and hearing it live to a full crowd for the first time was really special. It’s already sounding like a setlist staple.

The night was kicked off by the brilliant Jack Reilly, who did a stellar job warming up the crowd. Jack also jumped back on stage at the end of the night as the pair closed out the show with an electric rendition of "Over Galway Town", sending the Sligo crowd mental.

It was a late one, Jamie didn’t wrap up until past midnight, but nobody was checking their watches. The vibes were immaculate from start to finish. True to form, Jamie hung around afterwards, taking photos and chatting with every single fan who waited. A class act, through and through.

Jamie's next stop on this tour is Offaly on the 1st of February.
