Waterford's own The Wran have just ignited the Irish music scene by announcing their highly anticipated debut album, The Stone Man, set for release on October 9, 2026.
The announcement comes alongside the release of their fierce new instrumental single, "Fear Dearg" which we shared on our socials today.
Also included in todays blockbuster announcement was an extensive headline tour across Ireland this autumn (you can check out the dates below). True to their roots, the album’s artwork was painted by their father, Stephen Dunford, while the production was handled by Ben Wanders. Fans of physical media can look forward to a Limited Edition ‘Marbled’ Vinyl and CD, with pre-orders already live.
As mentioned above, the band dropped "Fear Dearg" today. The track is a masterclass with a sort of push/pull type of vibe. It has moments of big tension and of release. The production on this track is second to none and I really love the little touches that help the track build and feel atmospheric before its end. This track is always one of my favourites to hear live! The track follows the success of previous singles like "Sullivan’s John" and "Some Say The Devil Is Dead," both of which have helped cement the band as one of Ireland’s most exciting and unique new acts.

The Wran will hit the road in October to bring this new record to a rapidly growing fanbase. You can catch them in the following venues:

Oct 9 | The Workman's Club | Dublin |
Oct 10 | Dolans (Upstairs) | Limerick |
